The Meta-Forts House: a graphic representation of the state of mind in a given situation

A floor plan of your state of mind

The Selfie-coach assessment offers a graphic representation of your state of mind in a given situation, called the Meta-Forts House.

It is organised around four main motivational drives:

  • Move forward Long-term satisfaction
  • Win Individual recognition
  • Savour Immediate satisfaction
  • Contribute Collective recognition

And eight motivations that shape our actions:

  • Adaptation
  • Effectiveness
  • Desire
  • Creativity
  • Self-esteem
  • Self-assertion
  • Support
  • Listening

Each room has three dimensions:

  • An emotion
  • A value
  • A behaviour

The floor plan quickly identifies the motivations in use, any tensions and possible courses of action.

Educational tools

Different tools, one shared purpose: to see, get hands-on, experiment, understand and adjust.

Every reason to choose a situational assessment

  • A clearly identified situation

The Selfie-coach is a situational assessment that explores the state of mind of a person or a group facing a clearly identified situation. It answers one simple question: ‘How are you approaching this situation?’

  • No fixed profile

Because our state of mind can change, the Selfie-coach does not reduce a person to a personality profile. It helps you understand what is at play here and now in a given situation, observe how things change over time so as to develop clear-sightedness, and take action more easily.

    Facing the situation

Knowing your personality is not enough to understand how we will react to a situation. Being clear-sighted and aware of your impact is the key that changes everything.

  • A team meeting in a bright office, two people shaking hands

    Making adjustments easier

The Selfie-coach approach brings to light the state of mind in which a person or a group approaches a situation, in order to identify the adjustments likely to make action easier.

  • Professional applications

Selfie-coach assessments were designed by coaches who have held management positions. They are used to manage, recruit, handle conflict, motivate, set objectives, lead change, and improve the quality of relationships, team cohesion, communication and public speaking.

  • A visual approach

The Selfie-coach assessment is a graphic representation of your state of mind in the form of a floor plan. Moving mentally through this house helps you identify the changes you could make and put them into practice.

  • A pragmatic approach

The Selfie-coach draws mainly on the reversal theory developed by the psychologist Dr Michael Apter. The approach turns his concepts into a visual, pragmatic and operational method, designed to be easy to use in real-life, strategic or emergency situations.
